Saving tweets in Twitter Bookmarks is easy but accessing them later is very difficult. There’s no quick search feature, you just have to scroll down just like you do in the feed to find what you’re looking for.
For months, I was in the search of a better way to manage my Twitter bookmarks so that I can quickly refer to them if needed. And, I got one recently.
Raindrop.io is the tool that I am talking about. It’s a simple bookmark management tool that saves all the links in a fully searchable database. Whether those links are from Twitter or of any other website, just save them and quickly refer to them in need.
To use it, you can install the Raindrop.io browser extension (available for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, and Edge) and click on the extension whenever you have to save a webpage. It also has an Android and iOS app to bookmark something from your mobile device.
And, to make it even more interesting, I discovered an IFTTT automation recipe that automatically saves your liked tweets to a specified folder in your Raindrop dashboard.
Amazing, right?
For this automation to work, you will have to connect your Twitter and Raindrop.io accounts to IFTTT, specify the folder where you want to save the liked tweets, and just start the automation. It will keep doing its work in the background. If you like a tweet, it will be automatically saved to your Raindrop.io dashboard within 5 minutes.
Here’s how the Twitter folder looks like in my Raindrop.io dashboard.
And, the best thing is, I can search through them by any words that are there in the tweet. As soon as you type a word and press search, all the bookmarks containing that word will appear immediately.
Now that I have discovered Raindrop.io, I am never saving any tweet in the Twitter Bookmarks — it’s of no use.
