[Daily] 5 Mar 2022; Blog post repurposing

As I mentioned yesterday, I have been reading the book Show Your Work which is based on the main idea of sharing your work in public. If you don’t share, people won’t know about you.

In the same way, you should repurpose your blog posts to multiple forms and publish them on multiple channels. There could be multiple forms that you can repurpose your blog posts into, such as:

  • Instagram carousel
  • Infographics
  • eBook PDF
  • Social media post
  • Twitter thread
  • Podcast
  • Email newsletter
  • YouTube video, etc.

And not just these, there could be endless channels where you can target as per the type and nature of your audience. Just find out where your audience hangs out and you’re good to go.

Medium - Import a Story
Medium – Import stories

In fact, you can republish the whole article on the platforms like Medium by just providing a canonical link back to your original article. Canonical tags help search engines understand where the content was originally posted. Medium lets you import your blog posts by just providing the post URL, as you can see in the screenshot above.

Blog post repurposing is entirely a part of the content distribution. Your goal should be to distribute as much as you can.

For example, I have started the challenge of growing a brand new blog to 10k visitors per month and for that, I am sharing the progress in public. To share the progress, I have chosen Twitter, this blog, Medium, LinkedIn, and Indie Hackers.

However, there is a contradiction to my own point above. If you’re an individual who is just starting with SEO or content marketing, I do not recommend targeting more than one platform at once. I’m definitely not a beginner, plus I am doing this project with Bikash, and that way all the work gets divided into two parts.

Today, I will not be working much but will be writing a blog post for compile.blog. Also, I am planning to finish reading the “Show Your Work” book by tomorrow, so I will have to speed up the reading speed.

That’s it.

See ya!
